My First Day in Maun

As you may or may not know.
I had the first day jitters until I found out I was going to help with a "Jumble Sale"

Thanks to my sister Sherri . I am now a "Jumble Sale Pro".
Whoever thought that would of came in handy in Africa?

P = PULA
PULA = MONEY

When I arrived the ratio was 6.5 Pula to every 1 American Dollar. When I left it had went to 8.1 to every 1 US Dollar... Sorry the picture is blurry, but you can get an idea of what it looks like.

I love this picture, for a couple of reasons.
As you know I love butterflies, I loved being in Africa
and the day I was blessed by this beautiful young girl.

I brought a bunch of these butterflies with me on my trip to Botswana, with the idea of sharing them. On the day before leaving to return to the US, I thought I would stick them in my backpack so I could give them out.
To much of my surprise, As I gave them out to a group of children this young girl began to sing a song with a little dance in her step. When I asked what she was singing, her words were " I gotta gift" she repeated these words over and over. I was so tickled to find out what she was signing.

Do you think she will ever know how much of a gift she was to me?

This is the Night Guardsman set-up. The can on the branch is for water, the kettle is placed on the fire for tea or coffee. "Big Man" the dog is the security dog and the donkeys in the back are waiting for their opportunity to come on in.
